Newcastle ferry port is situated 8 miles east of Newcastle City Centre on the north bank of the River Tyne. Ferries arrive and depart from Royal Quays dock. The modern passenger ferry terminals are operated by DFDS Seaways and Fjordline. Newcastle port operates a daily crossing to Amsterdam and the ferry terminal handles over 700,000 passengers a year.
To get to the port from the west: follow signs to the City, and then signs to the coast which leads to the A1058. Follow signs to ferries & North Sea, which leads to the Royal Quays.

From both the north & south follow A19 to Tyne Tunnel roundabout which is north of the River Tyne and then follow signs to ferries & North Sea, which leads to the Royal Quays.
