Liverpool ferry port has two main terminals: The P & O Irish Sea terminal and the steam packet ferry terminal. The P&O terminal can be accessed by the M57 or the M58 which conjoin. The terminal is clearly signposted “Liverpool Freeport” from the A5036. The Isle of Man Steam packet ferry terminal is situated just off the Princes landing stage near the pier head.

There are three types of passenger ferry which operate from Liverpool; these are Norfolkline Irish Sea, P &O Irish Sea and the steam packet company. Liverpool seaport is one of the United Kingdom’s major ports handling over 30 million tones of freight per annum. It covers both banks of the Mersey River, in Liverpool and Birkenhead.
